Create and setting up a new category of goods

A category is a group of goods that have common properties. For example, all ESTEL goods are added to the ESTEL category, all shampoos from different manufacturers to the Shampoos category, etc.

By default, the Basic goods category is created in YCLIENTS. After creating your own category, you can delete it. Categories can be added, configured, and deleted.

New category

1. Go to the Warehouse - Goods section.

2. Click the Add Category button.

3. In the new window that opens, specify the Name, select the parent category (the folder into which the folder with this category will be attached), reference number, and comment.

4. Click the Save button.

Editing

Information about all goods categories can be edited. To do this, select a category, click on the button  ________.png next to its name, in the new window that opens, change the name, parent category, reference number, and comment, click the Save button.

Also here you can delete or archive the goods category. Archiving makes it possible not only to permanently delete a goods category, but to archive unused goods, and then choose to delete it permanently or restore it if necessary.

Important

  • You can only archive goods from a branch
  • You cannot archive a single category
  • You cannot archive a category if it contains goods or another category
  • You cannot archive goods linked to service charts
  • If goods are linked to a salary, it disappears from the salary calculation
  • Deleted archived categories and goods are restored to the archive (for this, contact YCLIENTS support)
  • Unable to delete a category that contains goods. Before you delete a category, remove all goods from it.

You can only archive goods category if the following conditions are met:

  • The user has the right to Access the archiving and restoring of goods (configured in the Settings - Users - Access Rights - Warehouse section)
  • Goods category is not connected to a chain and is not tied to another chain category
  • Goods category not deleted
  • Goods category not archived
  • There are no active subcategories or goods in the category (only archived and deleted ones are allowed)
  • The category is not the only one

To unzip or permanently delete a category, go to the Goods Archive tab. On the Goods Categories tab, restore the categories one by one or select several categories (check the boxes) and click the Restore Selected button or the Delete button. To return to the list of goods, click the Back to Goods button.

You can unzip the goods category only if the following conditions are met:

  • The user has the right to Access the archiving and restoring of goods (configured in the Settings - Users - Access Rights - Warehouse section)
  • Goods category is not connected to a chain and is not tied to another chain category
  • Goods category not deleted
  • Goods category not archived
  • Goods category is not in the deleted goods category
  • Goods category is not in an archived goods category

Note

1. Categories of all levels are sorted by the time of creation - at the top is the very first created, below - the second, etc.

2. Any goods category can be deleted (including the Basic goods category, which is created by default). However, YCLIENTS does not provide for the ability to delete absolutely all goods categories, there must always be at least one category.
